How the bonus hunt tracker works

What a bonus hunt is, how to read the live board, how the guessing works and what one hunt can and cannot tell you.

What a bonus hunt is

A bonus hunt is a slot session played in two halves. In the first half the streamer plays a list of slots at a set bet and stops on each one as soon as its bonus round lands, or buys the bonus outright. The bonus is left unopened. In the second half, the opening, every saved bonus is played in turn and its win is logged. The hunt ends when the last bonus is open, and its result is the total won set against the balance it started with.

The opening is the part people watch for. With a dozen or more bonuses opened back to back, the running total shows at every step whether the hunt is ahead or behind.

Reading the board

The board at the top of this page follows the current hunt and updates itself every few seconds while it runs. Start balance is what the hunt began with, and Balance now is where it stands. Bonuses opened counts how far through the list the opening has got. Each row is one bonus: the slot, the bet it was collected at, what it paid and the X, which is the win divided by the bet. A row marked Bought was bought with a bonus buy rather than landed, and Super marks a game's premium bonus round.

The figure to watch is Needed average. It is the average X the bonuses still to open must pay for the hunt to get back to its start balance. When it climbs past 100x, the hunt needs a big hit. Once every bonus is open, the board shows the Average X instead, and the finished hunt moves to Earlier hunts, where each card opens its full board.

How the guessing works

The guessing is a balance guess. Before the opening starts, viewers guess the balance the hunt will finish on. When a guessing round is open, its widget appears on this page under the board.

What one hunt tells you

Very little about any single slot or casino. Bonus rounds swing hard: most pay a modest multiple, and one 500x can carry a whole hunt. A hunt that finishes ahead tells you the opening went well, not that those slots or that casino pay better than others. Over many hunts the result drifts towards the house edge of the games played, so a hunt is more likely to finish below its start balance than above it.

A hunt on stream is entertainment, not a strategy to copy. If you try one yourself, set the budget before the first spin and treat it as the cost of the evening. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over, and our responsible gambling page lists free help in each country.

Questions about bonus hunts

What is a bonus hunt?

A slot session in two halves: first the streamer collects bonus rounds across a list of slots without opening them, then opens them one after another. The result is the total won against the balance the hunt started with.

What does Needed average mean on the bonus hunt tracker?

It is the average multiplier the unopened bonuses must pay for the hunt to get back to its start balance. It moves after every bonus, and once all of them are open the board shows the actual average instead.

How does bonus hunt guessing work?

Viewers guess the balance the hunt will finish on before the opening starts. When a guessing round is open, its widget sits on this page under the board.

Does a bonus hunt beat the house edge?

No. Collecting bonuses first and opening them later does not change what any of them pays, so a hunt carries the house edge of the slots in it. Treat it as entertainment and play only with money you can afford to lose.
