"Tax free" on a casino listing usually means the operator is licensed within the EEA, which in several European countries determines whether winnings are taxable for a recreational player. It is a statement about licensing and your own residence, not a promise the casino can make on your behalf.
Why the licence matters for tax
Several jurisdictions distinguish between winnings from an operator licensed inside the EEA and winnings from outside it, taxing the second and not the first.
