A no wagering casino pays its rewards as cash you can withdraw straight away, with no playthrough. At the crypto casinos we test, that usually means rakeback or cashback rather than a deposit match: a share of what you bet, or of what you lose, comes back to your balance and can leave in your next withdrawal.
Wagering, also called playthrough, is the amount you must bet before a bonus becomes withdrawable. A 40x requirement on $100 means $4,000 of bets. A no-wagering reward skips that step. What lands in your balance is yours, and the house edge applies only to the money you choose to play with.
The example below uses round numbers and a slot with 96% RTP, so the house keeps $4 of every $100 wagered on average. These are averages over many bets. A single session can land far from them in either direction.

The match looks far bigger. In expected terms it is worth less than nothing to a player who wants to withdraw, because the betting it demands costs more than the bonus adds, so the balance is most likely gone before the wagering is. The cashback and the rakeback are small, but they are real money the moment they arrive. That is the whole case for a no wagering casino.
Usually it is worth more, even with a smaller headline. A big match only has value if you can clear its wagering, and at 40x, as the example shows, the expected cost of the betting is larger than the bonus. A small reward with no playthrough is worth its full amount from the first cent. The exception is a match with low wagering. Thunderpick's esports bonus runs at 10x on deposit plus bonus, which a regular bettor can realistically clear, while its casino bonus asks 40x.
Wagering is not all or nothing. The lower the multiple, the less the betting costs you on average, and below a certain point a bonus becomes worth taking. This table shows the expected cost of clearing a $100 bonus at different multiples on the bonus only, on a slot at 96% RTP.

The break-even point on a 96% slot is 25x on the bonus. Above it, the bonus costs more on average than it gives. Wagering on deposit plus bonus doubles the betting for a 100% match, which is why those offers sit even further from break-even.

Turn each reward into what it does to the house edge you pay. On a slot with a 4% edge, a rakeback of 20% of the edge brings your effective cost down to 3.2% of what you bet. A rakeback of 50% brings it to 2%. A 10% cashback works differently: it does nothing in a winning week and takes 10% off a losing one. For steady play, rakeback lowers the cost of every session. For uneven play with big swings, cashback softens the worst weeks. Many casinos pay both, and they add up.
The terms say whether a reward is really free of wagering, and the wording is fairly consistent. Withdrawable, cash, real money and no playthrough mean what they say. Bonus funds, bonus balance, rollover, turnover requirement and locked mean the reward has to be played through first, whatever the banner calls it. If the terms use both kinds of word for one reward, ask live chat which applies, and keep the answer.
Players who come back. Rakeback and cashback pay on play over time, so one deposit and one short session earn very little. A player who plays every week builds up a steady return that a one-off match bonus cannot match. If you plan a single visit, the honest choice is often no reward at all: deposit, play your own money, and withdraw what is left.
No wagering does not mean no terms. These are the clauses we read on every reward of this kind.
A reward without wagering still has to leave through the cashier, and the cashier has a floor for each coin. If you have $8 of rakeback and the minimum withdrawal for your coin is $20, it cannot go out on its own. It waits until your balance passes the floor, and in the meantime it is easy to play it back. Check the minimum for your coin, and withdraw rewards together with a win rather than letting them drift back into play.
Rarely, and an offer that looks like one deserves a second read. Betpanda.io's welcome offer is a good example. The bonus is paid as cash with no further wagering, but only after you have wagered your deposit 40 times within seven days. That is still a wagering requirement, moved from the bonus to the deposit. On a €500 deposit it means €20,000 of bets in a week.
A real no-wagering deposit bonus credits money you can withdraw at once. If an offer needs any betting before the bonus is released, treat that betting as the price and work out its cost, as in the example above.
