Rakeback is a share of the house edge on your bets, paid back to you. Every bet has an expected cost, and a rakeback casino returns part of that cost as you play, whether you win or lose. At most crypto casinos it carries no wagering, so you can withdraw it as soon as it is credited.
The word comes from poker. The rake is the fee a poker room takes from each pot, and rakeback returns part of it to the players. Crypto casinos borrowed the idea for casino games, where the fee is the house edge. The sum is simple:
Rakeback = amount wagered × house edge × rakeback rate
Bet $1,000 on a slot with a 4% house edge and the house expects to keep $40. A 10% rakeback returns $4 of it, and a 50% rakeback returns $20. On a game with a 1% edge the house expects to keep only $10, so the same rates return a quarter as much.

Rakeback suits steady players, and cashback helps most after a bad run. Many casinos offer both. See cashback casinos for the other half.
Stake is the clearest example of VIP rakeback. You climb the tiers by wagering, and the rakeback and the extra bonuses grow as you climb. A flat scheme like Duel's pays every player the same rate from the first bet. VIP rakeback rewards volume, so it pays most to the players who bet most. If you notice yourself playing more to reach the next tier, that is the scheme working as designed, and a good moment to stop.
It is the most transparent reward in crypto gambling: paid on every bet, easy to check, and in most schemes free of wagering. It is also small. Rakeback lowers the house edge you pay. It does not remove it, and on a zero-edge game, such as Duel's own Originals within their daily allowance, there is nothing to return. Play the game for itself and treat rakeback as a discount, not as income.
