Prosperity Lanterns review
A familiar lantern-festival skin over a prize-collect bonus that climbs to a 1,000x row multiplier and a 10,000x ceiling.
Overview
Prosperity Lanterns is PG Soft's take on the Chinese lantern-festival theme, all gold trim, temple rooflines and dancing lions. Visually it is competent but does little to stand apart from the crowd of Asian-styled slots already on the shelf. What gives it staying power is the maths: a five-reel, three-row grid with twenty paylines, a generous 96.77% RTP and a high-volatility profile aimed at players who play for the bonus rather than steady base pays. The 10,000x maximum win sets the target.
How it plays
The base game is straightforward: twenty paylines, dancing lions as wilds, and Prize Symbols that carry values from 2x up to 50x the stake. Those Prize Symbols do almost nothing on ordinary spins; their whole purpose is to be captured inside the bonuses. Bets run from 0.60 to 180, so the game suits small and larger stakes alike. High volatility means non-winning spins are common and the real money is concentrated in the two feature rounds.
Features
Mini Bonus
The Mini Bonus can trigger at random during normal play, with no symbol combination required. It grants three spins on a dedicated grid filled only with Prize Symbols, and each new prize that lands resets the counter back to three. As Prize Symbols fill vertical rows, multipliers apply to the collected values: 2x for the bottom row, 3x for the middle and 5x for the top. The round ends when the spins run out or the grid is completely covered.
Bonus Game
The main Bonus Game needs six or more Prize Symbols to land at once. It starts on the same three-spin base but lets the grid expand upward: whenever a row fills, it is collected and cleared and a fresh row appears beneath. This drives a progressive multiplier that begins at 10x for the first completed row and escalates all the way to 1,000x, which is where the game's real excitement and its top payouts live.
Verdict
Prosperity Lanterns is a case of substance over surface. The lantern-festival dressing is pleasant but forgettable, and anyone browsing a busy lobby on looks alone may scroll straight past. Stay for the bonus, though, and the design earns its keep: watching Prize Symbols stack and rows clear toward that 1,000x multiplier is a genuinely satisfying loop, and the 96.77% RTP is friendlier than much of the competition. It is a high-volatility game, so expect flat spells between features, but for players who chase the bonus rather than the base game it delivers more than its generic exterior promises. A solid pick if you like collect-style features; skippable if you need visual novelty.
