Long-established and financially rigorous, the Isle of Man regime places strong emphasis on player-funds protection and corporate solvency. It licenses B2B suppliers as well as operators, so a good deal of the industry's infrastructure sits under it even when the customer-facing brand does not.
Player funds
The requirement to protect player balances is the substance of this licence. Where a jurisdiction lets an operator hold your balance as working capital, an insolvency takes it with the company. The Isle of Man does not, and that is worth more than most of what appears in a footer.
Scope
A smaller register than Malta's, oriented at operators willing to meet a heavier financial standard. Complaint handling exists and functions, though as with any offshore licence it does not substitute for a national scheme if you live in a regulated market.
