Carnival Joker belongs to Slotmill's Legends line, which mixes classic fruit-machine symbols with modern feature design. It first appeared as a formula in 2024's Raging Riches, and Carnival Joker reuses that engine almost wholesale under a new coat of paint. Here the setting is a big-top carnival: striped tents, a fortune-teller's booth, a popcorn stand and a jazzy soundtrack that switches to funk in the bonus. It looks and sounds cheerful, but underneath it is very familiar territory.
The game uses a ways-to-win system: 2,000 ways in the default 4-5-5-5-4 shape, expanding to 5,488 when the middle reels grow. Bets span 0.20 to 100, and volatility sits in the medium-to-high band. The main RTP is 96.08%, with a 94.11% build also available. Royals pay 1.25x-1.50x for five, fruit and sevens and jokers a little more. The wild lands only on the three centre reels and, in features, carries a 2x or 3x multiplier.
Three, four or five scatters award eight, ten or twelve free spins. UP symbols, which appear only on the three centre reels, each raise that reel's height by one row; since each reel can expand twice, reels grow from five to seven rows and the ways count climbs to 5,488. Fully expanding a reel adds two more spins, and wilds keep their multipliers throughout.
Six or more coin symbols in the base game trigger Fortune Frenzy, a hold-and-win with three respins that reset to three whenever new coins land. Carnival Joker is a perfectly enjoyable slot that struggles to justify its own existence. The carnival theme is bright and well presented, the expanding reels create real momentum, and Fortune Frenzy offers a meaningful coin round topped by a 5,000x full-grid bonus. The problem is that all of this already exists in Raging Riches, note for note; the Legends series is supposed to blend old and new, yet two back-to-back releases sharing an identical engine blunts that promise. If you enjoy expanding-reel and hold-and-win play and never touched the predecessor, this is a solid, colourful option. If you did, you are essentially replaying a game you already own in a carnival costume.
