Le Bandit Hold & Win review
A stripped-back 3x3 Hold & Win spin-off of the Le Bandit series, capped at a modest 2,500x.
Overview
Le Bandit Hold & Win is Hacksaw Gaming's latest visit to its Parisian-heist universe, and this time the studio pares things right down. Where earlier Le Bandit games sprawled across bigger grids and the Golden Squares mechanic, this one condenses everything into a tidy 3×3 board built around Hold & Win. The sepia Paris backdrop, the crowbar-toting Smokey and the jaunty soundtrack all keep the series' identity, but the compressed layout signals a deliberately lighter, more casual experience aimed squarely at mobile.
How it plays
Wins form across nine paylines, each needing three of a kind. Volatility is medium, and four RTP builds (96.27%, 94.29%, 92.23% and 86.28%) let operators pick a risk profile. Bets stretch from 0.05 to 400. Tellingly, there are no wilds at all: five standard symbols pay only 0.2x to 3x, so the base game is thin on purpose. Nearly all the action is routed through the Coins, Jackpot Markers and the Hold & Win feature instead. Hit frequency is 35.67%.
Features
Coins and Jackpots
Three or more Coins or Jackpot Markers pay their combined values. Bronze Coins land 0.2x-2x, Silver 3x-9x and Gold 10x-50x. The jackpot ladder runs Mini 5x, Major 25x, Mega 250x and, at the top, Grand 2,500x.
Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win
A Rainbow symbol starts three respins on which only Coins, Jackpot Markers, Pots of Gold, Clovers and dead symbols can land. Each new symbol locks and resets the counter to three. Clovers multiply Coin and Pot values by 2x to 20x at the round's end; a Pot of Gold fires all present Clovers, then collects and clears the Coins. Fill the grid and every value pays out at once.
Epic Drop and feature buy
The Epic Drop variant runs the same way but begins with the grid already full of features, guaranteeing at least one Coin and one Pot of Gold. You can buy the standard respin for 35x stake or the Epic Drop for 100x.
Verdict
Le Bandit Hold & Win does exactly what it sets out to do: it turns a busy franchise into a compact, phone-friendly Hold & Win game that anyone can pick up in seconds. The Rainbow Fortune feature is well put together, the Clover multipliers give the respins a lift, and the two feature-buy prices offer a quick route in. The catch is ambition. A 2,500x ceiling is modest for the Le Bandit name, the wild-free base game is deliberately flat, and the Hold & Win category is already stuffed with near-identical titles. Jackpot fans who value a clean mobile session may enjoy it; players tired of the endless Le releases, or hunting a big-multiplier top end, will find little reason to stay.
What we liked
- Compact, mobile-friendly and easy to follow
- Clover multipliers boost collected coins up to 20x
- Two feature-buy options (35x and 100x)
- Four RTP builds and a wide 0.05-400 bet range
What we didn’t
- 2,500x ceiling is low for the franchise
- No wild symbols in the base game
- Little new over the crowd of Hold & Win slots
